Okay, so I'm about 95% done with the new blog over at tumblr. I wanted to get the look as close as possible to this one, and I think it's good for now. I'll probably make changes later on.
I was doing some posts on there little by little...I forget who found it while I was building it, but they managed to leave the first comments. Those were lost though. Sorry about that whoever that was.
NEW BLOG
This blog will still be up, I'll just stop making posts to it. There's a link on the new blog that leads to this old one.
If anybody knows about CSS code, I need some help getting the header to be a link. Seems like basic html, but something isn't right

CU Tribute Purse
This lovely item was painstakingly put together by die-hard CU Studio fan Dee Potter!
She says it's a huge hit in Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia (I've heard CU is like the Beatles there). This purse is so mesmerizing it almost drove her friend Johnny to drive a fork into his face.
If only my European Carry-All was as pretty...I mean handsome. It's not a purse!

Worst Handicapped Parking Spot
This is in my complex's parking lot. Notice the ample space given on the right hand side for a possible handicapped passenger. As for the left hand side and a possible handicapped driver? Well you're shit out of luck.

Olympics? Or Die Hard 5!!!
I have the opening ceremonies on in the background while working...It's all pretty cool looking, impressive scale, etc - But I can't help thinking how it's a perfect set up for a Die Hard-esque plot.
All these world leaders in one stadium, in the middle of China. Suddenly during the ceremonies, the stadium is locked down and the Chinese government is holding everyone hostage!
Their plan is to kill them all, and take over the world, sucking it dry of all it's natural resources and then blasting off to their secret Chinese Moon Base.
What they didn't account for was John McClane. Somehow back in the doghouse after saving America in Die Hard with a Vengence, John finds himself lowly noodle salesmen in rural China.
Never being able to let go of his cop roots, he senses something is a fowl and sneaks into the stadium before the hostage crisis takes place.
Now he has to save all the world leaders and take down the Chinese government with the help of his spur-of-the-moment sidekick Yao Ming.
Will he rescue the world leaders?
Will he blow up China's Moon Base?
Will he save his noodle saleman business thing?
Die Hard: Gold METAL
Next Summer.

Creepy Carwash
Got my car washed the other week. I'm not sure if this is a nationwide chain...but here in Fairfield County we have the creepiest chain of carwash places. The mascot is a series of insane looking mannequins. One guy is in a raincoat (He's usually out by the road) and when you are done, you are greeted by this nice policeman who proceeds to haunt your nightmares for eternity.
Come back soon!

Chase Suddarth from Tomorrow's Nobody helped with the animation, and provided the lovely bacteria scene.

Eventually moving the ol blog
Over the next month or so, I'll be slowly building up a new blog using Tumblr (tumblr.com) - This site will still exist, but won't be updated, so if you want to visit old posts or whatever you can dig through the archives.
Tumblr's set up is pretty sweet and I can update stuff a lot easier or more often.
Just a heads up. Now back to work.

Spam subject title of the day
"Nazi Toddlers Ruined My Birthday"
Well, it worked...I opened the email.
Dave and I have determined that the people generating these spam email subjects are just like South Park's take on Family Guy's writers. A bunch of manatees in a tank, putting words together.
Thus spawning the term "Spamatees"
Spread the word. I want it in Webster's Dictionary by sundown. Not today's sundown...but a sundown on a day sometime in the near or distant future.

Gotham City Pizza
I really want to see the new Batman movie, and like any big movie, it's going to have some promotional stuff. So Dominos introduced the Gotham City Pizza!! What is a Gotham City Pizza exactly?? Is the pizza in the shape of a bat? Mushroom Joker Faces? Harvey Dent filled crust???? Nope.
No, to truly capture the feeling of Gotham City, Dominos pulled out all the stops AND......doubled the pepperoni.
Lamest promotion ever.

My friend Casey
This is a picture of my college buddy Casey. He moved across the pond shortly after college...and judging from this photo, was buried at Stonehenge until recently digging himself out.
Actually, here's his explanation:
"Party was wicked, the only time of year they fully open up Stonehenge and allow you to wander. Should of seen the Druids and fire people. The weather was cloudy and it was about half five in the morning but my mates a photographer so he played with the image a bit.
My other mates from home asked what drugs I was on, just drank. The impression was supposed to be God, thought I did well."

New CollegeHumor project
Here's a screen shot from a CollegeHumor project that has been in the works for a while, I won't go into the storyline or anything like that just yet. CH wrote it and we're animating a ton of characters into the live action...I will say there is some embarrassing stuff to animate in this 3 part series.
Other than that...go watch The Venture Brothers.

Dave The Intern:Behind the...Musings?
As I sit here plotting to some how take over Mike's vast cartoon empire I muse (Ha! I bet you guys didn't think I was gonna actually refer to the title) about the last few weeks. I have always been a fan of cartoons. From my generation, the current college generation, we have many in our collective arsenal of animated memories. Such classics as, Rocko's Modern Life, Doug (of which I only watched cus of Porkchop, that rasically little dog), Animaniacs, and a slew of other such memorable names.
Now we live in an era of depravity with cartoons like Skunk Fu, or those laughable 3d abominations like Chop Sooky Chops. Now don't get me wrong, there are good cartoons out there for kids, and even better ones for people my age, to whom I say, look no further than Adult Swim. Nay, Spongebob and his ilk often pry a manly chuckle from even my throat. Samurai Jack, Justice League, and Dave the Barbarian(for those of you with more infantile humor) are classic cartoon for the currentish child ages 6-16.
I have absolutely no idea where I was going with this, I just wanted to sound smart and like I knew what I was doing. In all honesty, I wake up at 9:25, come here at 10, do whatever Mike has set up for me that day, come home, eat Ramen, and watch whatever I can catch on the TV. Truly, the sin of sloth is my favorite affront to God and the work place. I do know a lot about cartoons. Ask Mike, my DVD shrine to the cartoon gods is fairly epic. Plus I log a good 30 hours a day watching cartoons. I know, I know, a physical impossibility, but with a good internet connection and panache for web surfing, anything is possible.
For all who wonder, Mike is a pretty awesome boss. Yesterday, while we worked, we watched almost the entire first season of The Venture Bros. For those of you who have not seen this cartoon. It premiere's every Sunday night at 11:30 on Adult Swim aka the bastard burn out teenage son of Cartoon Network that only gets up late at night to give a hardy "Screw You" to the man and the promptly returns to sleep like "So many Fonzi." Thank you the Monarch.
But honestly, now that Mike's gone and done gave me his password to this thing, you shall have my innate ramblings at least once a week, along with a link to my favorite video. This week I give you an entire friggin episode! But mostly cus I like the first part. If this doesn't work...I'm going to cry... and then actually post the video.

Nothing new going on on the interweb these days, but me and Dave are chipping away on various projects...the A.C. is cranked and that's pretty much it (By A.C. I mean Mario Lopez)
Other than that, handed in our Nickelodeon pitch on Friday...it's going to be presented sometime in the next day or so. Trying not to think about it until we hear back.

Beyond that, Dave and I are preparing some stuff for the Nickelodeon pitch for this Friday...Fingers crossed...thank you.

Some downtime...
Well, I've been running around like crazy the past week, trying to tie up any loose ends before I head off to a wedding for the next 4.5 days.
Should be the closest thing I get to a mini-vacation this year.
Anywho, probably won't be posting anything major until next week. I finished our latest CH short...should be posted today. When it's up, I'll send out a newsletter and post it on the site, blag blarg blarf.

Our friend Rich...
Our friend Rich always seems to find new ways to punish/humiliate himself - He worked in a steel mill for half a day before getting the hell out of there, wiped out in front of our house playing football - causing some knee ligament damage (Rich still claims that it was my fault)- here's a recent one involving physical fitness.
"On Saturday late afternoon, Tina decides to go for a run at the Shelton high school track with me and her sister. I had forgotten that she has been training for a 1/2 marathon and now can run 8 miles without sweating. So I run a mile with them, and then go to the football field to do some sprints. In Crossfit format, I do 30 yards, then do 20 pushups. Another 30 yards, then 20 situps. then sprint 40 yards. I do 2 sets of these with no rest, and collapse in the south end zone of sheer exhaustion.
Seeing Tina and her sister still running, I do a gut-check and mosey over to the corner of the stadium where I see some monster truck tires lying around. I decide to dead lift one and flip it over as many times as I can. It's impossible. From the other side of the field, Tina yells "What the hell are you doing?". I respond "They do this on the world's strongest man." She yells in retort "You are nowhere near the world's strongest man. You're an idiot!" I shirk away as others on the field share a laugh.
I woke up Sunday morning and could barely walk. no joke. I think I overdid it."
Andy's reply:
"When i read "monster truck tire" I thought that the next sentence was going to be "...surgery for my torn biceps / herniated disks"

Hank Scorpio
I managed to catch quite possibly my favorite all-time Simpsons episode "You Only Move Twice" - Where Homer starts working for the Globex Corporation and Hank Scorpio.
There isn't a single line of Scorpio's that doesn't crack me up. Definitely my favorite one-time Simpson's character.
And it's not just Scorpio in the episode, but Bart in the special class, Marge is bored, Lisa has allergies...all gold.
I tried to find some clips online but to no avail.
Scorpio:
There's the Hammock Hut. That's on Third. There's Hammocks 'R' Us. That's on Third, too. You got Put Your Butt There. That's on Third. Swing Low, Sweet Chariot. Matter of fact they're all in the same complex. It's the Hammock Complex, down on Third.
Homer:
Oh, the Hammock District?

What I'm up to
Dead in the middle of 8,000 projects at once. But chipping away at them all bit by bit. We're in the home stretch of our Nickelodeon pitch, really just need to focus on the artwork, and we plan to have this thing ready to pitch by the end of the month!
Other than that, working on all the character art for this month's CollegeHumor skit. Here's a screencap of the first scene.

What the hell is going on here?
I started working on our new CollegeHumor skit for this month (We wrote this one). It involves (among many other characters) Skeletor from He-Man.
So as always, I start with an image search for basic character reference...I quickly came across these 2 unrelated pictures
What are the chances of not 1 BUT 2 scumbags dressed up like Skeletor holding some skank's boobs from behind?

More updates
Yesterday's CollegeHumor meeting went well. Got to meet a lot of the writers and we cranked out a ton of funny ideas to build on for months to come.
I've started on our next CH skit already (We wrote this one) it's quick and funny, and hopefully I can get it done before the end of the month so you can enjoy it sooner.
Today I'm handling some freelance design stuff, and a lot of writing

Here's what we're up to
We've got literally a TON of shit going on at the same time right now, so I thought it might be good (especially for me) to go through them and tell you a little about each one.
CollegeHumor
Me, Andy, Mike W, and Jason are headed to the CH offices tomorrow afternoon for a writers meeting. We'll be meeting with the rest of the CH staff for a creative session, trying to bust out as many animated sketch ideas we can. CH is going to want 2 shorts per month very soon, and we thought it would be a good idea to stockpile a bunch of ideas as soon as possible.
March Entertainment
Mike W and I went up to Toronto the other week to visit with March and discuss the pilot we're developing for them. It's called "The Illuminati" - we've got character sketches, a great storyline and a pilot that we need to re-work a little. Once that is set, we'll animate it, and they'll do a number of things with it, including putting it on Canadian TV, and pitch it to major networks. We are also in the very early stages of licensing Clock Suckers with them to put on Canadian TV and pitch as well.
Nickelodeon
We're about 60-70% done with our pitch and presentation for Nick. A lot of the hard work is done - like Character bios, environment, storyline, episode summaries. All that is left is to start putting together the pitch and create a lot of artwork to accompany it. Once that is set, it will be presented to Nickelodeon execs, and I'll be pacing around the apartment until we hear back.
JustForLaughs.com
We we're recently asked to pitch a handful of ideas to JustForLaughs.com - and one of our ideas made the shortlist of pilots they would like to produce. So it's just one episode for now, if they like it - then it will expand into a little series much like Clock Suckers was/is. It revolves around The World Of Warcraft - but our own version (since none of us actually play the game). More details on this to come.
Clock Suckers
Haven't forgotten about the DVD. With all these new major projects coming in, it's tough to keep everything moving forward at once. We still need to write/animate at least 1-2 more episodes for the DVD and start production on that.
College University
As much as I love this show, I just can't find enough time in the day to write and animate for it. It sucks. We have an awesomely stupid script about 60% done. The storyline is complete, it just needs to be put into dialogue. I'm even willing to take requests if someone would like to animate this episode with me. It would be a labor of love...not money. But if you have some animation skills and would like to be web-immortalized as part of the CU Team - let me know.
Okay, that's about it. Those are just the CU related projects. I don't want to even bother telling you about the other freelance design projects I'm taking on. It's a ton of work now, but the goal is to keep working through all of this until I can support at least 1 writer and another animator.
If you've even bothered to read this much of my stupid post...pat yourself on the back. Now rub your stomach while patting the top of your head.

Super Bubble
I took this picture a few months ago and decided to post it up today.
Me and Andy we're driving somewhere and stopped at a gas station where I saw a giant Super Bubble Tractor Trailer Truck. It just strikes me as odd that a 3rd rate bubble gum is in such demand that it needs it's own truck.

A rare sight
This past weekend Andy and Kristie went to a beer festival somewhere in upstate New York. It was here that they stumbled upon a shirt thought to be extinct since late 1994.
That's right, a "Big Johnson" T-Shirt
If you can't read what is on this caveman's shirt, I'll help you out:
Big Johnson Trucks: When Your Johnson is "Like A Rock" - You'll Always Be Haulin' Ass!
Now I know some of you are probably thinking that this particular brand of trucks is made to be very tough, and has the power to go very fast...but this is not exactly true.
You see, "Big Johnson" was recently discovered to hold secret messages within it's labyrinth of brilliantly descriptive slogans.
What Big Johnson is actually saying is that if you walk around is a big boner sticking out of your pants, large breasted women will want to have casual sex with you.
BUT there's another layer to this masterpiece! The true message of Big Johnson is that if you are wearing one of these shirts, you are a loser.

Back to work...
After a whirlwind trip to Toronto, then follow that up with one of the most boring NFL drafts in recent memory - I'm ready to get back to work.
Toronto and March Entertainment was awesome - lots of work done, and new work to do.
So here's what I'm up to this week:
-Finish animation for new CollegeHumor project (Due to air Thursday)
-Continue building pitch for Nickelodeon
-Discuss new pilot with JustForLaughs.com
-Rework storyline for March Entertainment pilot
-Various freelance design and animation projects

Me fast
Accidentally took this picture with my iPhone while running the other day. Not completely sure what's happening here, but I can only assume that I am running so fast that it's actually warping the Earth.
Another note, no podcast this week. Mike W. and I are heading up to Toronto for a couple days for a brainstorming session with March Entertainment.
I'll try to take some pictures and let you know what's going on.

AtariTendoSega is REAL!
This dude actually made a real AtariTendoSega just like in Clock Suckers: Game Over. Except his really works and doesn't send you in an alternate universe.
CHTV - Grand Theft Auto
CHTV's newest skit about Grand Theft Auto for the original Nintendo. I was asked to do the game cartridge artwork (At the end of the video and below). They gave me some general direction for the layout and said, "Anything inappropriate for kids"
The production of the video is great (as always) - but I feel like the skit is missing a big payoff, or something.

My night out
The other night I decided to head out to Chinatown to look for some Dried Tiger Penis. Things got rough pretty quick, but NOTHING gets between me and my Dried Tiger Penis. Luckily someone actually filmed the entire ordeal ALL IN ONE SHOT. Nevermind the last couple of seconds where I'm yelling gibberish.

Awesome?
Found these gems while shopping at Modell's yesterday (Moes! Moes! Moes!)
Shoes don't get much more corny than this. Whats worse is that these are clearly adult sized shoes. I could understand if these were made for little kids, but someone old enough to make their own decisions owns a pair of these somewhere in the world.
I'm not even sure if the Patriots would wear these.
The only thing that would make me want to buy these is if "18-1" or even better "19-0" appeared somewhere on them.

What I'm up to
It seems my days have been consumed with drawing tons of character art lately. That's part of the process with these new CH shorts. Here's a screenshot from the new one due out at the end of the month. We didn't write this one, but we should be doing the next one.
Other than that spending a lot of time on the Nickelodeon pitch and many other projects I'll fill you in on when I can.

I was so famous...
Not sure how old I was when I drew this amazing, in-depth, Garfield themed weather report for the Milford Citizen (Maybe 9-10?)...But it kick started my career as the world's first cartoon character based local paper weather reporter.
What sucks is that they didn't use my cartoon where Marmaduke is dressed up like a judge and suspends Trujillo's sentence.

Transformers honors...
CollegeHumor posted the video on YouTube today...within the first 4 hours of it being posted, this is what happened:
#48-Most Discussed (Today)-Comedy
#13-Top Favorites (Today)-Comedy
#18-Top Rated (Today)-Comedy
#86-Top Rated (This Week)-Comedy
Not bad. Also, I have no idea how to properly reply to posts on Youtube.
Whats New
Not too much new news going on this week. Just working on a lot of projects at once.
Here's a character for the this months CollegeHumor sketch. We didn't write this one, but we will probably write the next one.
Other than that, have another update email/meeting thing with Nickelodeon at the end of the week, working on the pilot for March Entertainment...and another CH project.

Laser Chase!
One of my cats Charlie needs to lose some weight, so we're constantly looking for toys so he can get some exercise. Well, I got him the "Laser Chase" laser pointer - it's like crack for cats. Once they see that little red laser dot on the floor, they'll do anything possible to try and catch it and kill it. So it works great, helped Charlie lose half a pound...But even better than watching my cats twitch like crack heads when the laser isn't on, is the packaging for Laser Chase
Nothing special at first, but there are 2 things that really bring the package together
1. This man shooting lasers out of his hands trying to kill his cat and dog
2. It says it's great for all pets...even fish, birds and lizards. So naturally they picked the most common household fish/bird/lizard...or Shark, Owl and Dinosaur.
Andy recently got a laser pointer as well for his cats - but he upgraded to some sort of Gatling Gun/MegaMan looking model with all these different filters on the front for different shapes.

And just like that...
I have lost all interest in the NCAA Tournament. UConn (my alma matter) lost in the first round to a crappy team, so I could give two shits who else is in it.
This also marks the beginning of the worst sports time of the year. Pro Basketball, Hockey and dear lord 40 straight months of Baseball.
My only saving grace is holding on to the sweet sweet memory of the Giants beating the Pats in the SuperBowl.
Oh yeah, sorry no podcast this week - Been crazy.

Tropic Thunder
Guess who the guy in the middle is...
Robert Downey Jr!
He plays a white actor in the movie (about the making of a Vietnam movie). He's a method actor and actually gets surgery to look like a black guy for the film. Pretty funny concept.

What I'm up to today
With Clock Suckers off the schedule for a little while (Until we start planning the DVD) - It's time to start working on our new CH Project. We've got the first concept down, just need to write the script today and start the artwork/backgrounds/voices and all that good stuff.
Also, this week, working on the new pilot, Nickelodeon concept, and some other business goodness.
Oh and continue writing CU12, and possibly a new KFK

Montage Lyrics...
Due to popular demand, here are the lyrics to the montage song in Episode 13
I’m smarter than Kermit and Jesus combined.
I once killed a shark with just using my mind.
People think I’m crazy but all I say is this.
My peanut butter elevator drinks my piss.
Let’s rock. I can talk with peacocks.
The best Transformer is Grimlock.
Let me take a dump on your socks.
I love doing coke off a hooker’s ass.
Invented lawnmowers and the forward pass.
I breathe underwater and I shit gold bricks.
I like the crocodiles with the silicone tits.
Let’s rock, have sex with livestock.
And I refuse to wash my jock.
Something something Mookie Blaylock
Said I refuse to wash my jock.
Something something Mookie Blaylock

This week...
I know I've been lacking in my posts this week. GET OFF MY BACK!!!
Just been swamped with finishing Clock Suckers. Almost done, it's due out tomorrow and it's too bad it's the last episode, because I really feel like it might be the funniest one.
Is anybody here good at html or javascript code and shit like that? I'm in the very slow process of moving this blog over to another site (tumblr) - it's much easier to post stuff, plus some other cool features. Well, if anybody knows that stuff and wants to help me lay out the new blog design leave a comment or send me an email.
