Interview in Dangerous Ink Magazine

A couple of months ago I did an interview for Dangerous Ink Magazine (out of the UK) - It's a nice 3 page spread. The timing is unfortunate since it's about Clock Suckers and we're stopping it in 3 months. Well check out their site and it's available to buy in the UK, and will be in the US around March. Moving On...

All good things must come to an end...sort of.

CollegeHumor let us know that this is going to be the last round of Clock Suckers. They made sure to tell us that it's not due to lack of popularity, but more about the direction that CHTV is headed. The formula that works best for CHTV are the viral skits and shorts.

Make no mistake though, we're not done working with CollegeHumor - we're actually moving right over to a new project with them. It's not a new episodic series, but a series of the viral skits. We'll be writing and animating them (CH Writers will also be writing skits). Not exactly sure when these will start up - could be once CS is done or as soon as possible. I think the initial schedule will be one per month, and possibly more as CHTV grows.

Once these new skits start up and CS stops, we should have a lot more time to re-dedicate to CU and KFK.

We're not exactly sure what to do with CS. Do we continue to produce episodes? Shop the new episodes around to other websites? We're definitely going to produce a DVD with all the episodes...and maybe a special "DVD-only" episode included.

What I'm Doing Today...

Animating Clock Suckers and creating some character art.

Quick update on CU12 - After writing and re-writing and changing the plot around etc, I think we've finally come up with a solid storyline. If we can pull it off, it will be our most complex CU story by far...and by "complex" I mean stupid.

Meeting...

Had a meeting with Heavy.com today. It was short but sweet. We'll see what happens in the new year but for now it looks like they'll be playing CU on their site, gauge the response and if there is enough interest, possibly a sponsorship and more CU episodes.

Could also lead to a new series as well.

So when when CU starts playing on Heavy we'll need you guys to watch like crazy.

All in all, good quick meeting.

We just finished recording Podcast 55 and while saving, the program dropped some audio tracks-I couldn't recover them, so we're fucked. We aren't about to re-record the same podcast, and any emails we read won't be re-read. That would just be lame. So send in some more stuff for next week.

It's 1:00pm on a Tuesday and I quickly flip through some channels...here's what I find:
Channel 51: E! "Miami Models"
Channel 52: VH1 "America's Most Smartest Model"
Channel 53: MTV "America's Next Top Model"

A few years ago every channel had a show about gay people, then interior design, building motorcycles, retarded game shows, then fashion design, tattoo shops, chefs, and now I guess models are new "fad" that TV will take advantage of and then leave behind once they get bored of it.

I really hope the writers strike ends soon so they can save TV from more of these shows.

Either that or I will make a show about a gay motorcylce shop that redesigns tattoo shops against a bunch of super model chefs for 10 million dollars.

No podcast today, Andy isn't feeling so good. We should be able to do one of Thursday.

Ratatouille

Just finished watching Ratatouille...It's an awesome movie, the graphics are insane and the storytelling is so well done, as are all Pixar movies.

But one thing I couldn't stop thinking, while Remi the rat was in the kitchen and whipping up delicious treats - I heard that rats are basically incontinent which means they are constantly going to the bathroom.

So while Remi did make sure to always wash his hands and had good manners, etc - I just kept picturing him pissing all over the place.

Anywho, great movie.

Also, I'm deciding if I should just order the "Bad Scale" posters myself. Spyhunter gave me a link to a poster place that is reasonable. The size would be 12x18 and I'd probably sell them for about $8.00 per.

Let me know if I should go ahead and do it, and I'll set up a pre-order.

TTWB: Star Wars

It's no secret that TTWB's favorite movies are from the Star Wars trilogy...or sixilogy? Whatever. He knew that if he managed to get himself in any of the Star Wars movies, it could lead to getting some serious tail.

So the first thing he did was zap himself onto the set and take the place of Harrison Ford as Han Solo.



Lucas didn't think he had the right look. Solo was supposed to be this "Dashing, cool-under-pressure" kind of guy. TTWB turned him into some sort of "Asshole rookie cop with low self esteem who ends up getting shot because he keeps harassing minorities"...kind of guy.

So Lucas decided to cut TTWB as solo and tried to use his natural "hateability" in a role more suited to his style.



But that didn't work either when test audiences said The Emperor was way too ugly. Desperate to get rid of TTWB, Lucas decided to play a prank on him and cast him as Queen Amidala. The rest of the cast and crew all had a huge laugh. They staged a photoshoot for this fake movie poster, then kicked him off the set.

Due to popular demand, we've made "The Bad Scale" poster from Clock Suckers episode 9.
It's not available just yet. Cafepress is checking it for legal reasons...I'll let you know if it passes.

Where we got our funny from...

Home for Thanksgiving, Andy, me and our Dad we're hanging out in the living room watching football.

Mom walks in and asks if anybody wants this old portable CD player that's been laying around.

Andy asks if it has a cassette deck. (It does)

Dad asks if it plays rap.

Laughter ensues.

What I'm working on today...

Well first, Clock Suckers Episode 10 will now be released on November 30th (Friday). Here's a quick screenshot for you.

And I'm also making a solid effort to get all new College University, Clock Suckers, KFK AND Podcast related merchandise on the Cafepress store. They've got some new products so the shirts and stuff will look pretty cool. Here's the first one I made last night. Comes in a bunch of different colors.

I'll be making a Clock Suckers poster today, and possibly another new shirt.

Any and all suggestions for new merchandise are welcome...

TTWB: The Nascar Thrill!

TTWB just got finished watching "The Fast and The Furious" marathon...including a sneak preview of "The Fast and The Furious 4: Mini Cooper, Mega Extreme". Well after all that gasoline fueled mayhem TTWB wanted in on the action, but he also wanted fame, money and chicks...so he decided to hit the NASCAR scene instead.

Unfortunately TTWB time traveled his way directly in the middle of a race, and he instantly caused a 22 car pile up.


The near death experience turned him off from being a driver, so he thought it might be easier to just relax and drink some brews with those crazy NASCAR fans...But that turned out to be a worse idea.

After throwing up and picking back hair out of his beer, he realized he didn't want to hang out with the fans either...
So finally he decided to ditch NASCAR, and head over to Forumla One. He zapped himself right into the winner's circle and made out with Ashley Judd for 20 minutes.

She kicked him in the balls after she picked some back hair out of her mouth.

Uno Attack

We talked about this commercial a long time ago on the Podcast. It's for Uno Attack. Listen to the last line. "You might get no cards. You might get eights" Sounds an awful lot like "Might get AIDS"
You'd think one of the Uno bigwigs would have picked that up.

Naive or retarded?

I've been watching this AT&T commercial for the past couple of months, and I think they took the classic "Dumb Husband" role just a little too far. He comes off more as "Slightly Retarded Husband"

TTWB - The Beginning.

Early one morning while oiling up his fresh chest tattoo, TTWB had a sense for some danger. Not the usual, "rob a bank" or "watch The View" type of danger, but something much more adventurous. It was right then and there he decided to travel back to the year 2005 and start up a show following the lives of crab fishermen, called "The Deadliest Catch"

TTWB loved it. The thrill of working 24 hour shifts on the roughest of seas, battling storms and injuries and fighting with the mean ol captain. All the danger, making good money, risking his life day in and day out all so some rich douchebag can eat crab legs and be like "Meh, this is okay"
TTWB found out the hard way that he was actually allergic to all shellfish when his eyes swelled up to the size of pineapples. Blind as a bat, he fell overboard and woke up on a glacier with a gang of penguins.

Shortly after TTWB decided to time travel back to his parents' basement since the penguins were "Cramping his style". That and his legs froze off after 15 minutes.

Introducing: The Time Traveling Wanna-Be

Take a look at a new weekly feature on the CU Blog.
He's the Time Traveling Wanna-Be (TTWB). He is NOT affiliated with Clock Suckers. The real story behind him is that I stumbled on this stupid picture back in 2001, and I photoshopped him in all sorts of stupid situations. I lost the originals and just recently decided to search for him again...and here we are.

His first adventure will come on Monday.

London knows Football!

This week the NFL will have the first ever regular season game in London when the New York Giants play the Miami Dolphins...so what does London do to celebrate this momentous occasion?

Well first they gather up the 2 best athletes they can find to pose in Halloween costume uniforms. I like how they kept the authenticity of the game as most players on the Dolphins wear wrist watches while playing. On a side note, they also used the only black guy in London. Carl.


After posing for pictures, the next obvious step is to construct an enormous statue of Jason Taylor. Again, authenticity is their highest order, so they gave him serious lower back problems and constipation.


But the one thing London REALLY got wrong and it pisses me off!!! THAT'S NOT JASON TAYLOR'S FACEMASK!!!


Other than that...Spot on London! Spot on!
